170219 Wendy Birthday Party

Wendy looked nervous when she entered
Today's MC is Seulgi
S: I'm going to MC interestingly~
W: Please MC interestingly~
S: The reason why we came here is because of the birthday party right? Then let's bring the cake right now..
W: You MC really interestingly
The cake and birthday hat came. Wendy tried to put on the birthday hat but since her hair is in a bun, she struggled to put it on. In the end, she put the bun into the hat and wore it
The spelling for the candles was wrong on Seulgi's party so Wendy checked the spelling as soon as the cake came
A long lighter was used to light up the candles. Wendy kept pressing the button but there was no fire coming out. The staff came and fixed it. She pressed again, suddenly a big fire came out and everyone was shocked and went 'woaaaahhh'
They were about to sing the birthday song but Wendy said that she has to start wishing once the song starts because she has a lot of wishes
As soon as the song starts, she quickly gathered both hands and starting wishing
The members asked her to reveal one of her wish and she said that it's for the health of the fans, members, and staff
They were contemplating whether to cut the cake or not. Seulgi suggested to cut but Wendy said that they have to take a photo of the cake so they didn't cut it. The members teased Seulgi because Seulgi didn't want to cut her cake during her party but suggested to cut Wendy's cake instead
The birthday candles were blown out, but smoke from one of them kept coming out. Wendy caught the smoke with her hands and said 'since it's long, I'll live for a long time right?'
S: Between the previous time and this, which is more interesting?

S: Joy isn't around today. Joy needs to be at the side to comment some stuff to make it interesting...

Seulgi then turned to Wendy and told her to say that she's the best. Wendy says that she hopes Seulgi becomes the best and did a hwaiting for her.
The members were supposed to say something to Wendy for her birthday and Irene and Yeri said 'sincerely happy birthday~'. Seulgi got flustered and said that she have to say something long, but she started stuttering. Thus, Wendy said 'I know your heart ~ I know it all~' and patted Seulgi

We're friends right. From the first time Wendy came until now, Wendy has always been a friend who always thinks of the members. (Wendy was flustered, didn't know where to look and started tapping her chair). From the start till now, you've always loved the members and taken care of us like a mother. Thank you for being born...um though there's still some time left till your birthday, congratulations and I'll tell you again during then. I'll tell you about my love for you. Why!? Don't be shy. W: I need to explain why it's a challenge! It's the first time experiencing the working world for me. Meeting new people, being a singer and trying out other fields, I think they are all one challenge for me. (she said something along this line)

Y: Wendy unnie has never once mentioned about her ideal type to the members since she doesn't have. She said it this time and I was very shocked!!

Wendy said Lee Dong Wook is fine, Ji Sung is fine too

The dance for her solo part was supposed to be more forceful but sohee (choreographer) said that she needs to sing too so she doesn't have to dance so hard

Yeri didn't like the Rookie dance and wanted to change it but got rejected. She doesn't know how she eventually came to like it.

8. Member's advantages
Wendy said that Yeri is positive but Yeri said she's not. Wendy says that Yeri is positive on things that she's not. When she's doing something, she has to finish it, but Yeri will go 'what? it's fine, just don't have to do it', and she's envious of that
Seulgi is bright. Wendy thinks Seulgi will still be like that even when she grows old
Wendy said Irene is like an elementary child, Irene didn't hear it and asked Seulgi
Wendy said it's nothing and not to say it because she chose the wrong descriptive word
But Seulgi said it out so Yeri called her a 'Sunmaek' (someone who innocently ruins things for others)

I: She sleeps while using her phone

Wendy doesn't turn off the lights from her phone. She'll use it and then fall asleep, and then wake up again, continue using the phone and pretends nothing happened.
She'll sit and use her phone, and then sleep in that position. Irene says that her phone light is always on, but her head hung low, so she looks like she's doing something. However, when she looked closely, she's actually sleeping.
The members asked why she didn't sleep. Wendy said that it felt like the thing she's doing isn't completed. She said it's the Korean perseverance and continued using her phone
She said 'Korean's perseverance!!' while clenching her fist and it was so cute
She said that the phone will drop on her face while she slept, it hurts and she herself doesn't know why she doesn't sleep
W: I hold my phone like that, the phone drops on my face, I wake up and continue using it
S: She does nothing much on her phone. There isn't anything important or what
I: She just listens to music...
Y: The funniest thing is the phone dropped on her face and she wakes up pretending nothing happened
I: Her phone light doesn't go off so it always seems like she's doing something. Normally the lights on phones goes off in 3 to 5 minutes but since hers is always on...
W: No no it's true there are certain times where I pretend I wasn't sleeping because I was embarrassed, especially when I'm with Seulgi. There are times where our faces are facing each other and I can feel her looking at me
Wendy says she likes to look at scenic pictures and likes searching for other photos

Seulgi says that her parents and Wendy's parents are close. Wendy's parents are really nice people and that Wendy grew up well. She says that she is thankful that Wendy is taking on that role (taking care of members) in Red Velvet.
Irene was in super high tension this day. She was 100 times more excited as compared to seulgi's party. She kept asking Wendy to sing and would pick three questions at once and ask Wendy to do this and that. Her satoori kept coming out

When Wendy answers questions from the 5 words question talk, she stood up every time to answer. Even when she sat, she'll stand up again to explain. It's so cute
Yeri said that she checked the charts of Rookie when it came out, called Saeron and cried saying that Rookie is a fail

The prizes for the lucky draw are

(it was originally 2 polaroids but there were 2 extras, so either Irene or Seulgi asked Wendy to take photos with the fans. Wendy went 'me alone??' Irene went 'why why why why?' and Wendy said that she wants to take the photo with the members all together)

Wendy did eye contacts with all the fans who got chosen
Wendy felt very sorry for the people who got chosen for the Olaf balloons. The balloons were big so Wendy was asking if the neck can be separated. She was struggling to rip the balloon on her own, the members stopped her and she sulked again. She felt sorry for them having to bring the balloons onto public transport and continued sulking '^'
Male fans kept getting chosen. Wendy wanted to hug them but couldn't, so she sulked.
In one of the polaroid photos, one of the fan's arms got cut off so Wendy drew an arm. Seulgi saw it and said 'why is the arm like that? Is that a branch?' and teased her. Wendy's eyes widened and said 'Are you disregarding my drawing just because you're good at it?'
After the photo taking, the fans told her to sing something so she sang the first verse of 'Last Love'. We could hear her breathing in between and Irene said that she likes it a lot and mentioned that part
[Exit]
Before they left, Wendy said that it is her first time having a birthday party with people like this since after elementary school. She said that she likes it and that she's thankful. When she's in Toronto, her birthday is during the school breaks so couldn't have events like this. The mood became sad so she she grabbed her nose bridge and acted sad to lighten the atmosphere.
When they were exiting, Rookie was played so Irene said to listen to the fan chants before leaving and the room suddenly became a music show. The members said it's Wendy's birthday and put her in the middle. They danced a little and suddenly became excited so they went one round around the room and greeted before they left. Yeri said they have to go film something and to meet in the TV screen in the future
Just before they left, one fan said 'Thank you for being born!'. Wendy choked up and turned her back around. Irene and Seulgi covered her up.
Wendy kept greeting and waving her hands all the time while leaving. She kept looking and waving at the fans until the door closes
